  • Yes, you CAN sharpen it; NO, it is not fake; yes, it has a thin plastic coating but it can be sharpened with a “normal” manual pencil sharpener!!!The very thin plastic actually shaves smother than those made of wood.I use the smaller of the two holes in my “elf” brand sharpener; the one I always use for eye pencils.The reviewers that state it can’t be sharpened did NOT try to do so.The plastic shaft shaves very easily.I have included photos with shaving still inside sharpener.The eyeliner applies well and lasts.
